Episode-14

She gaped at his aquiline nose that was sharp and proclaimed that he was a determined man when he wanted to...more like stubborn she thought, as her arms went round his neck unknown to her in reflex action...
Deepthimaan looked at her then as her arms went round his neck. She blushed and lowered her eyelashes making him want to do something to hold her gaze. He shook his head in exasperation.

He was getting old and that was it! As his mom said, he needed to settle down may be. Else what could be the reason for him to get all turned on at a sick helpless woman.
He put her on a chair and said, “Five minutes! We will move” and walked out.

Chasing the Rainbow

Khushi looked at the maid who was sorting her stuff.

“Lado! Uss kay baad inkay pair ko theek say maalish kar dena”

(After that, do give her foot a massage.)

The Prince‟s voice boomed through and she looked at him, as he walked away saying, “There is a bell by the bed which will alert the security. There is an intercom, which would ring at the mansion. Just take rest and get well soon.” Khushi mumbled a weak thanks, only to find him gone.

Lado smiled and said, “Chotey Thakur waisay hee hain. (Young Master is like that!) Bahuth acchey aur bahut seedhey.
(Very good yet very right)
Unko kutchho naahi accha lagaa tho... bus!” smiling. (If he doesn‟t approve of something, then...that‟s it!) She shook her head in exasperation.

“Kyun? Gussathey hain kya?” Khushi enquired.
(Why? Does he throw tantrums?)
“Baaba reh! Bahuth! Thod phod hotha hain tab tho.”
(Oh! My! If it‟s ever so then, he breaks things and becomes violent)

She said, and started massaging Khushi‟s leg gently.

Rani Maa Thakurain tho... bus...”

(His mom...she has....)

Lado was still speaking when Suri barged into their conversation stalling her saying,
"Oye bus kar! Kunwar kabhi kutch bhi galath nahee karthey hain! Haan magar gussa karthein hain tho jum kay per pyar karthey hain thoo bhi jum kay!”

(Stop it! The Prince never acts out of turn. Yeah he gets angry in earnest, I agree, but it is also to be noted that when he loves, then he does it with all his heart!)
You please take rest and let me know if you need anything.” He said as Khushi settled for the night.

******

Khushi walked into the cabin and saw that her table was as she left it - spic & span. Why not! You are returning after a week! Her inner voice goaded her. Now was the time to face the wrath of Mr. Avadhani she thought and sat down on her chair and rang up Raina. After updating her on her health and then enquiring about her condition she set out to work.

At around eleven o clock the cabin door opened with a swish and she looked up to find the Prince standing before her with his hands on his sides.
She got up and stammered, “Sssss...iiii...rrrrrr!”
“Didn‟t you think it was necessary to tell me you are moving back to your place?” His voice cut through like a blade, and Khushi flinched, as Rupesh the assistant to Mukund Dhanjani who was sitting with her to sort the dossier she earlier did for Raina was watching them scandalized.

She gulped and said, “I... am ok now so... I...”
“Deepthimaan took a step forward and hissed, “It shows,” giving her an insolent stare from head to toe and she knew it was to intimidate her. So she lifted her chin and said, “Well, I informed Her Highness about it and thanked her. If you wanted me to thank you and pledge my life for whatever you have done, then you are mistaken sir!”
“What?” Deepthimaan just could not fathom her. What was she saying! He came back and as usual when he parked his vehicle he turned to look at the outhouse and found that it wore a desolate look. Ratan told him later that the lady had left. Somehow it felt a little odd. After he settled her at the outhouse he never bothered even. But he would check when he parked his vehicle and find the lights on, or some movement of habitation, which told him she was around. But he was not sure why it unsettled him that she did not inform him before leaving.
“You were in my outhouse for a week, and when I carried you there, you were more than happy! Then how come you just vanished?” He growled.
Khushi now was sure that Rupesh had a burning topic to discuss with the rest of the staff during lunch.
“I just thought that I needed to...” She was speaking still when he was by her side in two seconds holding her by her upper arms shaking her saying, “You could have just let me know”
“Oh! I am sorry! I didn't know I had to inform you about my movements and that you had bought my freedom by shifting me to Mehraana!” Khushi knew she was unreasonable but her month had triggered the hormonal havoc, which was making her blabber.
Rupesh was now with his jaw dropped wide, and Deepthimaan turned and simply said, “Out!”
Rupesh scurried out closing the door behind him, and Khushi closed her eyes in exasperation. Now! No one could save her! Everyone must be thinking that.... Oh God! How embarrassing!
“Don‟t talk to me in that tone Khushi, I am warning you!” Deepthimaan shook her.

“Whaaaat...did I do? I informed your mother and since it‟s a weekend I wanted to settle back. I can‟t live there all my life isn‟t it sir?” She said trying to do some damage control.

Deepthimaan froze at what she said.
It was true.
What was happening to him!
She had a temporary stay at his outhouse and she recovered, and so she went back. He stepped back and shook his head, and left in a whiff making Khushi wondered what the man was all about.
